What Is a Glycerin Bong (and Why Is Everyone Freezing Their Glass)?

Freeze Pipe, mrb0ng's Bong of 2027

Glycerin bongs are the biggest upgrade to glass in years, and they're the reason Freeze Pipe is mrb0ng's Bong of 2027.

What's glycerin?

Glycerin is a non-toxic, food-grade gel you'll find in foods and personal care products. Frozen, it holds cold longer than ice. It also doesn't expand like water, so it won't stress the glass.

How it works

A glycerin piece has a sealed chamber of glycerin wrapped around a coil. Freeze the chamber for about an hour. When you hit it, smoke travels through the coil and the frozen glycerin pulls the heat out, for hits up to 300° cooler.

Why it beats ice

  • No melting ice or watered-down hits
  • It stays cold for a full session
  • No ice-pinch cracking risk
  • Works in pipes and joint chillers too, not just bongs

Coil types

  • Spiral: one looping coil, the classic.
  • Revolver: several straight tubes for easy airflow and cleaning.
  • DNA: twin intertwined coils for the longest chill.
