mrb0ng's take

Both stretch the smoke path. The Zong does it with a bent neck; the Ultimate runs it through two loops of frozen glycerin and a recycler. On smoothness, it isn't close.

When to pick the Calibear instead

Pick the Calibear 9mm Zong if durability is your number one concern and you want a beaker that shrugs off knocks.

The big difference: frozen glycerin vs. water

Water cools smoke a little. A Freeze Pipe goes further: the sealed glycerin chamber goes in the freezer for about an hour, and the smoke travels through a frozen coil on its way to you. That's where the extra smoothness comes from.
